Due to specific requests AND the fact that my purse looked particularly festive today...
This really is EXACTLY the way my purse looked this afternoon. And yes, ALL that stuff from the post below is still in there too. I'd tell the story, but it's better left to the imagination, since the truth on this one is kind of boring.
I labeled things I thought might give some perspective on size, while trying not to waste too long obsessing over the lack of arrows on the lines.
So there it is, as promised: smaller than a bread box, yet every bit as functional.

Had there been said arrows accompanying the lines, this particular entry just might have made Digg.com !!
Thanks for the follow-up ...
Maybe you should use your craft-making skills and craft yourself a utility belt. In FACT...hmmm...maybe you could make it HIGHLY CONFIGURABLE so it could be worn as a belt, slung across your body like what, ammo, or worn as a backpack...hmmmm...If you include a cupholder for a travel mug or a nice clip for the caribiner + mug handle...
I am impressed with your purse. You said your daughter weighed it once at it was 9 pounds? That's it? Or is that it's "summer weight?" and in the winter it gets heavier?
As per ms.q's comment.
WE WANT PICTURES (I'm thinking Tomb Raider).
Amazing! I bow to you, oh goddess of purse. :-) janet
Ms.Q - Good idea! Not sure on the 9 pounds...maybe that was without a hardcover book & a water bottle. :-)
TS - God help us ALL! :-)
Janet - Hey thanks! That's WAY better than one of my best friend's usual eye roll followed by "You and THAT PURSE!"
No WAY do you fit all that stuff in there!!! How? Teach me your secrets wise one... (and never mind reprimanding me for my use of full caps and other grammatical errors)
Ummmm....secrets? You mean like the stuff spilling all out the top? :-)
I think your missing the toothbrush in there. Holy Moly girl
Good golly! I'm still stunned and shocked! I don't think I could do it. You must need a back adjustment every week!
Great post! I was in a circle journal group last year and one of the album titles was "what's in your purse?" - I couldn't believe some of the things people kept in theirs :)
Debbi - I had to take the toothbrush out two weeks ago because I needed it for my bathroom kit. I did used to keep one in there though. :-)
Lynn - Guess I just have a good mattress. *shrug* :-)
Thanks Toners! I've never done a circle journal, but that sounds like it'd be a neat one!
When I was in college I carried all my books in this Big Purple Backpack (still in use and featured a few times in my blog). The comment *I* would sometimes hear was, "You look like a backpack with legs."
Yuk-yuk-yuk. I gather no one has said, "You could fit in that purse?"
I'd get that comment as well with good ole BPB.
are you a purse monogamist? i cant understand the women who have a gazillion purses, because then you have to move all your crap and invariably it wont all fit in your other purse, and the ONE THING you need (like tweezers) are not where you need them. grrrrr.
I don't think it looked so bad.. *Ü*
Now I wish I had a purse.
Honey has mostly receipts and empty bottles of water. I tried for a while to get her to organize her purse but in the end I have to admit there's a certain kind of magic in a huge purse filled with trash. Maybe if she at least put the empty bottles in a separate area, to make it easy on recycling day?
Looks like you have quite the party going on in there! It's the travelling bag of fun.
Isn't that why we have purses?
Min'es the diaper bag right now, but even when it isn't...it's fascinating what I can find in there.
Wow, all I can think of are clown cars for some reason....
Ms.Q...it may as well be a backpack sometimes I think. Right now it has a change of clothes in it. I'd take a picture if I'd gotten more than three hours sleep...
I think I've been ambitious enough with this whole purse thing though... :-)
I think you're around my age & am trying to think of a way to complement you on getting a lot of use out of your backpack without calling either one of us "old"... :-0 :-0 :-0
Disa - I finally quit changing out purses for just that reason.
I think I need a little mini-purse to keep in my big purse just to pull out sometimes though, because as it turns out, you don't ***always*** need a library book at a bar or club...
Flip flop mom & Lara - It's not that bad, right? :-) Well, right now it still has that change of clothes in it...
Good idea on the recycling People in the Sun! I'll have to carve out some space in mine...
Ingrid :-)
Ricardo, I'd say ........., but I still haven't figured out the full implications of that one! :-0
I'm 42 to your, uh 38 I think you said. I went back to college in 1992 so my backpack is over 15 years old.
It went through hard use in the college years then migrated to laundry-supply bag when I had to cart my stuff to the laundromat and then it just kinda sat in the back of closet for a few years until it's recent incarnation as overseas carry on bag and even more recently, Trader Joe save-the-paper grocery hauler!
Blogging, arts & craft and ..... chickens!!!
Ms.Q - Yeah okay, I was right on the "about the same age"...it's had a good life! :-)
TS - Not CHICKENS!!!! Just songs about chickens!!!! Honestly, have you ever heard a BAD song about a chicken?!?!?
Now THAT'S more like it!!!
