Yes! I've been a bad blogger!!!! I couldn't help it! After vacation I got slammed by "life spackle" (otherwise known as all that stuff you gotta do just to be able to sleep in or go to the beach once in a blue moon).
I did find out a few things this week: that even a birthday party that's delinquent by a month seems to require quite a few phone calls, that you're supposed to plan a bat mitzvah IN ADVANCE (!), that being a year and a half officially divorced does NOT mean an end in sight to hassles and phone calls with lawyers. Be careful out there people!
Meanwhile my kids are convinced that my car has a terminal illness. Just because within three days the battery died and the tire went flat and it started making a "Whoop! Whooop! Whoop!" noise every time I step on the brakes is no reason to think it can't last ANOTHER 117,000 miles, is it? Which led to my next discovery: while I can't really claim to have made too very many wise choices in the past where men are concerned, it turns out that the RIGHT man can be WAY better than Triple A!
Our vacation was wonderful and had everything and here are the pictures to prove it! A brand new nephew
Plenty of snow
And of course, cross dressing. Let me just say that cross dressing children are much, much cuter than transvestite karaoke, which we (that would be my brother and me, not my kids and me) went to see on vacation a few years back. I do have to say, though, if you lack candidates for cross dressing, time spent watching transvestite karaoke is never wasted.
Last but not least, no vacation would be complete without theater
Happy New Year everyone!

You should call Car Talk with the Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!
Been a busy few days I see. Good to see you posting.
It sounds like your car is suffering from a 1/2 Curly. When it gets to about 8 whoops (of varying tone) you'll have a full Curly. It typically isn't terminal until it starts going N'yuk n'yuk n'yuk; this condition is called The Stooge.
My kids think my car (a really sweet mini-van) should be replaced anytime something new goes wrong. Of course, they may just be hopeful that whatever the new thing is will push me over the edge as the AC gave out three years ago ... and that is a high crime in their eyes.
I'm glad the vacation went well. Gotta love the snow.
I love the theater picture and that just might be the biggest snowball I've ever seen!
I'll definitely agree with alf, that theater picture looks hilarious!
I was wondering a little bit why I hadn't been seeing any posts from you for a while. It was because you were having a life. :P
Good to see you back. Sounds like you had a great time on vacation. Sorry about the car. Car problems suck Jill. Really they do.
Great idea christine!
Derek and SJ- Yep...the old "It never rains but it pours" saying has been pretty appropriate lately. :-)
Delmer - where on earth do you live that you can get away without and AC for THREE YEARS? Here in Houston, I think the AC going out is more or less a death sentence for a car...
Thanks Alf! Thought I got a good shot with that one!
Hi Ricardo! Yes, car problems STINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Luckily I can walk or rollerblade to work easily when I need to, but it's much harder to get the kids to school.
If you like cross dressing children, my youngest son would win you over. Big time. I blame it on his sister who smuggles him into her room and then parades him around the house in her dresses like he's her model and she's Vidal freaking Sassoon.
Nephew is precious!
It must be cranky car season - our Kia Sephia (never buy a Kia) with 115K miles on it decided it didn't like the transmission it had. So we opted to junk the car and we're looking for a new(er) one.
Your nephew is almost as cute as my baby. Almost. And that's only because they kind of resemble each other. ;)
Ahhhhh....je me rappelais bien cette scene du film Robots. Ta fille et ton cousin sont des mervielleux acteurs!
D'etre en Vermont avec toi et ton famille...c'etait une fantasie.
A bientot ma belle
R.

Thanks Bastet! And wishing some snow your way!!
Damn late again lol sorry Jill! My reader sucks! I see you have been busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking contest

Roger - yeah I think, just about!
Disa - That was in Vermont!!!! :-) That much snow in Texas and life as we know it would have come to a standstill.
