I sure didn't! But I'm I wiser woman now, I'll tell 'ya. Actually, until I saw this stuff this morning, I thought fire places and chimneys smelled kind'a good.
But, not to worry because apparently Chimney and Fireplace Deodorant is available for those poor stinky souls. Which is really great for those of us who were fearful of our fireplaces and/or chimneys developing a case of low self esteem on account of the BO:
Sorry for the broken link here. It's probably something off my old Flickr account that I'd go look for if I only knew what I was look for. It was probably something like this:
(affiliate link - see disclaimer)
I still don't have my camera, but I do have some OLD pictures, from back before I lost it and before my computer bit the dust. Here's my boy, gracefully drying a wishbone with a hairdryer:
Here's a picture of a sunset hurricane Dolly brought us:Wasn't that nice of her? Ok, so that was like a good long time ago and I'm just that behind schedule and THAT is probably why they don't let me think up the street names around here.
I always say they should have let ME name the streets of Houston. Just down the street from me is Creekbend. No creek. No bend. Then there's Hillcroft. No hill. No croft.
It's possible there WAS a creek or a croft or a hill at some point. After all, in Houston they like to name things after stuff they've plowed over and demolished. But if they left the street naming to me, I'd call a spade a spade, at least every now and again. Cockroach Corner Drive. Ant Hill View Road. Flat Acres Road. Litter Lane...
That's probably why I was amused when Razor pointed out this medication:Just get rid of the snot, okay?!?!?!?!?

Mucus relief? Go figure. You'd think they'd come up with some other name for mucus when it comes to marketing.
Regarding the street names, a cynical (VERY cynical) friend of mine said that they name things by what they destroyed. So...you have a ridge. You have some quail. You develop a Gate Community on this quail-infested ridge. Bye-bye ridge. Bye-by quail.
Ditto "Deer Creek" - there USED TO BE deer, there USED to be a creek. Until it became and business park.
I found his comment funny and sad.
Hey, I know what that hairdryer picture is about!
I actually have some of that mucus relief stuff in my cabinet at home. Perhaps you need to come to my house and take some pictures of my closets, I think you would find lots of fodder for your blog!
I think I like the name mucus relief way better than Mucinex. I think that sounds totally gross, but that's just me.
What's a croft, anyway?
I never saw more unattractive deo bottles... but then chimneys and fireplaces prolly don't care.
Ms. Q - I dunno, maybe that makes me VERY cynical then, 'cause I always say that exact same thing!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought the funniest/saddest one was when you'd hear the commercials on the radio for Cinco Ranch. You'd hear all these horse hoof beats and all the sounds of a ranch that is now covered in cement, brick & vinyl siding.
Hey thanks People! I had a feeling I should have linked that somehow!
Beth - Yeah, I think we got plenty of blog fodder last night, didn't we? Up next...Clamato!
Lara - I actually had to look that word up in the dictionary, 'cause I had a vague idea but wasn't sure. It's, "a small enclosed field or pasture near a house."
SJ - Luckily I don't have a chimney or fireplace. Can you imagine? You think raising children or having pets is hard & then all of a sudden your fireplace starts going through puberty.
oh man - if street names indicated what was found on the street I would be in real luck. That would be awesome.
Well
Mucus relief may not be the best title but it's right to the point and I guees that's all I need. :-)
Does a fireplace become musty at all? I can't really understand the whole fireplace body oder issue.
I'm sorry your computer died.
If my friend had only said the "Quail Ridge means no ridge no quails" that wouldn't mean he was VERY cynical.
He has other aspects that make him so cynical. I don't think of you as very cynical but that's only from what I see here (and the comments you leave on my blog).
Ok Alf I was thinking that was totally teasing but I suppose your not really supposed to just post up your address on the internet for any ole' body to stalk you. :-0 :-0 :-0
Ricardo - maybe it does become musty, I dunno. Seems like an easy fix to that would just be to light a fire in it though. *shrug shrug*
Ms. Q - Oh good! Only sort'a cynical!!! I think I'm really, really cynical sort of in one way - sort of like my oddball optimism - hey the worst didn't happen! This awfulness is great! I'm sure that makes no sense but I have to leave for work...
Mucus Relief would be a nice name for a street that passes in front of a Kindercare.
Oh good thinking Delmer!
hi mommy! im posting from daddys computer. you never told me that you started posting again! c u 2moro *<):O) funny clown!
Hi Sweet Pea!!!! Yes, I managed a post! Love you! See you today!
Chimney BO...hmmm let me think about that one for a sec.
ok.
I'm still puzzled.
What the heck is a croft, anyway?
How cute was that funny clown!
*<):0)
And he's not even the scary kind.
Noelia - YOU know! When chimneys and fireplaces don't bathe enough or forget to use deodorant!
Janet - Funny you should ask! Why it's a small enclosed field near a house which are ALL OVER the fourth biggest city in the United States, of course. Right.
People - That's my gal! :-)
Jill: Hoping Gustav doesn't affect you badly... thinking of all you down there in the Gulf Coast. Take care and keep safe.
Thanks Maureen! It happened that Gustav spared us over here in Texas. But we were camping pretty far up North anyway, so if it had come our way, we would have been pre-evacuated!
