It was suggested to me recently that although the Israel pictures are very pretty, the signs are really the main draw around here.
Unfortunately, I didn't take so very many sign pictures in Israel this past visit. I took a bunch on our other visit, but I noticed that most of my older Israeli sign pictures had a common theme:
"Warning! Death!"
They don't always give a detailed description of HOW you're going to die, just y'know, try and be on the lookout for the grim reaper*
I did get a couple of signs this time though. I took this out a hotel window. Obviously, this is for all those people walking around Jerusalem in midair:
This one speaks for itself, doesn't it?
I'm not sure what this one is all about, but it's certainly emphatic:
Here's another sign at Deganya Alef. It's not funny, but I still liked it:
And with that, we'll go back to a couple "pretty" Israel pictures and then call it a day.
Guy on a little side street off Ben Yehuda street in Jerusalem:
I had to take a picture of this church. I think it's the rule:
And since I'm taking a stab at "pretty", a flower in Jerusalem:
That's it for now! But don't worry, I still have like 600 pictures to wade through.
I know, you were all terrified that I was going to run out of vacation pictures.

Yay for more photos!
Ok, I have to admit I love the signs....what is it about signs that draws the interest? The quirkier the better, I say. That church looks like it is Russian Orthodox--really lovely against all that green. And I LOVE that vibrantly blue flower--gorgeous!
I am so glad you're sharing these. Every single one is interesting, and shows so much that we would otherwise never see. If we can't go visit, these photos are the next best thing.
That flower is gorgeous! TFS. :-)
Love your photo's.
I am so enjoying traveling through your photo's.
I love the photo of the shop behind the guy in that side street.
I love the signs as well! The domes on that church are beautiful!!! Great captures and I can't wait to see more!
Thanks Cid!
Pat - I think you're right about the Russian Orthodox. And drat! I forgot to do links for the sights on this one! Ooops!
Thanks Alison! Glad you could come with me!
Thanks Stacy!
Tracy - Thank you! I liked that one too!
Thanks Yolanda!
Great - more photos!! Love visiting through your photos!! Especially love your sign shots!! LOL!
The signs are interesting - I know I'd be appreciative of the one directing towards the toilet (very important info) and I agree with Pat, the church looks Russian Orthodox. Keep 'em coming.
you need to come to my job and force them to lift the security so i can see this stuff at work.
it sucks getting excited to see a pic, clicking on it and getting 'access denied'.
i blame you.
Thanks Reds!
Thanks Nicki! My Sweet Pea picket out the toilet sign for me. I picture that one with sort of a "CHARGE!" sound effect and an explanation point. :-)
Slyde - I know. :-( That's something I'd actually like to work on this summer. I found a website that has the code where I can insert bigger pictures into blogger without hosting it somewhere else, I just don't know where to PUT the code. :-(
I love these! I've not mentioned it before, but my very first web-page was a small collection of signs I found amusing while traveling around the states.
For that speedboat one- maybe the back-half of trucks in Israel are precariously attached?
and... was there actually someplace "down" to go, or was it more just "potty here"?
It's beautiful!
I SO WANT TO GO THERE.
Cbeck - Then you should be right at home here! Signs are my specialty! (their in the category/label "show me a sign"). There WAS somewhere down to go - the sign pointed at a staircase that went underneath.
You should Lemons! It only seems impossible until you do it.
Just checking in Jill. It's been a mad week, so nice to come and see your soothing death related post. :-D Oh and the word verification is dedneste!
Arizaphale - If you think death related posts are soothing, you'll be glad to know I'm posting about a dead alligator next! Nice to (sort of) see you - hope things are smoothing out for you! But then again, do they ever with a teenager?
