Staph: much like lice, except with the option to become deadly

On the off chance you've been wondering where I've been lately, the answer is underneath a mountain of laundry. My boy has had staph again. Staph is exactly like lice, scabies, and barf: it produces much laundry. Except, unlike lice, staph can eat your face off.

I've also made the mistake of asking my good buddy Google about the illness, something you're never, ever supposed to do for ailments of any kind.  Although Google is not normally one of those friends prone to drama, response to medical issues tends to be grotesque enough to toss even the healthiest person into a panic attack and/or OCD tailspin.

I'd ask someone to pass me some anti-anxiety meds or a drink, but I'm afraid it might relax me enough to miss a germ or microbe here or there. Instead, I'll just amp up coating everything in essential oils, keep the washing machine running, and post a few pictures. Either that or burn down the entire house and start over, one or the other.

Happy week everyone!

Obviously not at all worried about living in a disease-ridden home

I Got a New Ceiling for my Birthday!

For all those people (I'm sure there must be at least one) who have been waiting with bated breath to see how our kitchen renovation has been coming along, I have exciting news! I got a ceiling for my birthday last week!

There's been a lot of progress since I last posted pictures in March, but it's all been mostly electrical stuff way up in the ceiling to install these lights:

But now, lucky us! We have a celing!

Goodbye hitting my boy's floor with a broom to make sure he's out of bed on early school days! Goodbye insulation hanging above the countertops where we prepare food!

Meanwhile, I'm not sure I ever got around to showing the end result of the cabinet installation on the other side.

Although he's out of focus, I thought it was quite nice of Sugar to take it upon himself to demonstrate the use of the cabinets.

If you missed the pictures of the wall being knocked out and how it used to look when it was a separate room, click here! Quite the change already, right?

Apples and Honey - Rosh Hashanah Printables

I all started out to make a huge Rosh Hashanah / Apple /Bees & Honey roundup post with every activity under the sun. It turned out that I couldn't keep up. So here are a couple of printables instead.

Apple Printables

I made these for the Head of Demolition to count, sort, pattern, or whatever. In class they could be used to graph kids' favorite color apple. But she thought of using them on the contact paper we had up for pattern blocks herself!

Click the picture or HERE to download the apples!

Printable Honeycomb

This we made to paint on with "honey" or glue mixed with yellow paint. Click the picture or HERE to download!

Rosh Hashanah Coloring Page

Last but not least, we made a coloring page. Because although coloring pages were out for awhile (for stifling creativity), they are now back IN (for practicing fine motor)!

Click the picture or HERE to download!

And I did NOT forget Wordless Wednesday! I just couldn't without words on Wednesday this week. I didn't forget the link up though:
